Comic-Con 2023

In 1989, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a decision with the potential to dramatically curtail abortion access, comics legend Trina Robbins (A Minyan Yidn) fought back with the best weapon she had: art and the artists who make it. More than 30 years later, in the wake of Roe v. Wade falling, she’s doing it again with Won’t Back Down, an anthology in support of Planned Parenthood. Trina herself, along with contributors Dani Colman (The Unfinished Corner), Tony Parker (God of War), Lee Marrs (Gay Comics), Barbara Randall Kesel (Meridian), and Sydney Heifler (A History of Romance), share the deeply personal stories of the comics they’ve written and drawn. They’ll talk about using art to take a stand, fighting for what they believe in, and the terrible bravery it takes to put their own experiences on the page when rights are under siege.
